Soak Up The Sunshine

Today is a super quick post sharing a layout I made for the Sassy Scrapper April Moodboard challenge.

1174915_10202696455986668_1196863250_nI really liked this board and I decided to use most of the colours and also some script alphas to mimic the word poster and also chose my beachside picture based on two of the images (the sandy feet and the instagram pic).

Soak up the sunshineI started out with a piece of paper from the Hello Again collection from Carta Bella and then I just went back to the Amy Tangerine Plus One again – I am so obsessed with this collection for some reason. I am sure it is the bright colours and the script font. I also added in some Crate Paper Love Notes and some Um Wow Flair (and an unknown flair)

So that is it from me today, like I said a really short post.
Have a great day!

When I am getting close to publishing an issue of Life.Paper.Scrapbook. I often feel like I don’t get me scrapping time, time to just sit and play. A lot of the layouts I do during the time I am finalising everything are usually DT assignments – which of course I love or I wouldn’t choose to be on a team! But sometimes you just gotta have fun for the sake of it.

In my browsing of the web I came across a new sketch challenge from Creative Scrappers and also a pocket challenge on Paper Issues so I decided to combine them. This is the sketch:

Creative Scrappers 265I used the March Cupcake Kit from A Piece of Cake Designs and added some items from my stash.

FavouriteFor the pocket challenge from Paper Issues I decided to make a little vellum pocket and fill with sequins that came in the kit, it looked a little plain so I added the LOVE paper clip from Freckled Fawn (the second time I have used one in as many days!)

And of course there is a video of how this all came together which I will be posting later tonight on my YouTube channel.

Thanks for dropping in,

Polly Scrap Kits – Singapore Eats

Yesterday I shared a new layout on the Polly Blog using the March Kit. There were lots of Amy Tangerine goodies in the kit including some gorgeous exclusive acrylic embellishments which I fell in love with, one was a little knife and fork badge so of course I had to use it and the other Plus One goodies to document the food on my Singapore trip.
Singapore Eats

Singapore Eats2I also did some cosmetic surgery on the word thickers and turned the word “cherish” into Delish by adding the D from darling. I really like how it came out.

Singapore Eats3I also have a process video of how it all came together which you can watch below:

My Details Blog Hop + GIVEAWAY

Welcome to the My Details blog hop, you should have hopped over from Kellie’s blog if not you can go back to the start HERE.

I am super excited about this workshop because I very rarely sit down and journal just about me and what is going on with my life. I think this will be great to look back on in a year, five years or however many years down the track and see what was going on with me right now.

The prompt we are sharing today is THINKING which is something I do a LOT of!
My Details - Thinking

My journalling says:
“The buddhists have a saying – mind like a mad monkey – that sums up my thoughts perfectly! My mind is constantly spinning with creative ideas, things to make, plans for other crafty things, it never seems to stop. I am also a day dreamer, I always have been, planning all kinds of adventures usually about travelling to foreign lands. I am a worrier too. I over think things… a lot! I can make a mountain out of a molehill and fret about it all day. It is a kind of negative thing to do but I can’t help myself. When I am not thinking about creating and travelling or worrying then I am probably thinking about cats!

Have a great weekend,

Marina Bay Sands

I have been trying to get my pile of Singapore photos scrapped before I head off on holidays again in May and have been using the Amy Tangerine Plus One Collection.  One of the things that fascinated me while I was there was the Marina Bay Sands building, it is 55 stories high and has a cruise ship like deck on top. I love architecture and this was really amazing, I didn’t get a chance to go to the top but will make sure I allow time next time.

So Serious

This week I shared my first post on the Um Wow Studio blog as a DT member, it was so exciting to be working with the products that Dee Dee designs, they really are amazing and the chipboard is super versatile.

For this layout I started by making my background using some yellow mist and then the line of chevrons mask. I wanted a fairly crisp outline on the chevron shapes so I used a Prima chalk edge inker to colour the masks, these are my ink of choice for edging and I find they work great on masks too because of the small size and pointed end.
One of the reasons I love chipboard so much is because the ease of altering it to suit your project, in this case my colour scheme of yellow and grey looked good with the natural chipboard but the sepia photo got a bit lost so I again used my chalk inker to colour the Large Love This Polaroid Frame and also the pieces I used on the page including the Heart Confetti and Everyday Speech Bubbles.

I wanted to repeat the mask pattern so I used some of the chevrons from the Arrow Title Mash and finished the page with a flair from the Mustard 29 Flair collection. To finish off page I mounted it on black cardstock and used a fine black marker to add a hand drawn border around the page and the mounted picture.
Thanks so much for stopping by and happy crafting!
